Feedback from Tender Years Nursery

As you know, we are always looking for ways to improve our training and services. We have been working with Lisa from Tender years for a while now and they have been very happy with the results. Lisa has commented on how well both of the learners have done throughout their apprenticeship.

We are very proud of their achievements and would like to share their success with everyone.

Below is a piece from Lisa's email

Faathema

Faathema has been with us for just over 12 months now. She is coming to the end of her first year and level 2 apprenticeship. She has moved off her training rate of pay and onto the nursery salary scale now. She is ready to begin her second year study towards her level 3 as soon as her end point assessment is complete. She has moved on to the pre-school classroom with her cohort of children from last year and has formed some really close attachments with her children and families.

Recently she has participated in the completion of our 4yr old progress checks for her key children. She has written eloquently, demonstrating an understanding of their progress from their starting points. She has also taken a lead on the ‘Taste Ed’ project within her room. Taste Ed is a fully funded initiative that gives children the opportunity to experience the joy of fresh vegetables and fruits.

Taste Ed believe learning about food should be more carrot and less stick! The project aims to increase children’s confidence and desire to try new foods. Faathema hopes to become a teaching assistant or maybe even a teacher one day and we look forward to being a part of her journey.

Charley

Charley has been with us for just over 12 months now. She is coming to the end of her first year and level 2 apprenticeship. She has moved off her training rate of pay and onto the nursery salary scale now. She is ready to begin her second year study towards her level 3 as soon as her end point assessment is complete.

Charley started out in our baby room and has this year moved into our toddlers room caring for children that are 2yrs of age and turning 3. Charley has recently completed 3yr progress checks for her key children.

She has written knowledgeable and personal comments that demonstrate an understanding of her children as unique individuals and celebrates the progress they have made from their starting points. Charley has formed some strong attachments, helping children in her group to feel safe and secure and have lots of fun whilst at nursery.

Despite being a very quiet person naturally she has overcome her shyness to greet and communicate her parents with professionalism, on arrival and at the end of each day, sharing moments from their child’s day that are special. Charley isn’t yet sure what her future holds but she is considering the level 5 apprenticeship which some of her colleagues are doing and we look forward to supporting her achieve her level 3 and more.

We are really proud of the progress Faathmema and Charley has made and they have really contributed to the experiences of our children. Well done and keep up the great work.
